Last weekend we took the kids to Lego Land! Did you know that even existed? It is a theme park with roller coasters that Dane and Eliza can ride…big roller coasters, Lego figures, statues, exhibits, factories, etc. Almost all the rides were designed for Dane's age and maybe 1/2 of the rides were designed for Eliza's age and size. Emma enjoyed riding one or two rides over and over!
We met several lego men! Dane and Eliza thought it was really funny that there were giant lego men walking around. My favorite part of meeting this particular lego man was when Eliza started to dance with him. What a character…Eliza, that is.
Nana and Papa came with us! Thank goodness! Matt and I had planned this trip not even thinking about the fact that I would not be able to ride any of the rides because of my bulbous nature. So, with the extra help Matt was able to chase off with Dane to the big kid rides and Nana and Papa were happy to take Eliza on the little kid rides while I rode the helicopters with Emma.
I didn't get a picture of it but that awesome shirt you see me wearing is the aftermath of THE WORST ride in the whole park. It was a water ride with random water explosions while people not riding the ride were given the opportunity to shoot us mercilessly with water guns. (should have seen it coming) We were soaked and it was not a hot day. Dane was so mad when we finally got off the ride, "I DO NOT LIKE that ride. I NEVER want to do that again." Eliza cried. I got to wear Matt's sweater. We got off the ride and all we could do was laugh…it was horrible. Naturally we found those water guns used by the on-lookers and were merciless towards the unsuspecting riders.
Here is one of the roller coasters everyone was able to ride (Except for Emma and I) It had a couple of pretty good drops. Dane and Eliza loved the roller coasters!
The very first roller coaster Matt and Dane stood in line for was a good 20 minute wait only to be greeted by one of the workers telling Matt that Dane wasn't tall enough…or was he tall enough. The worker couldn't decide. Finally, the worker sent for an "official." While Matt was waiting for the official to officially measure Dane, Matt quickly shoved a wad of money in one of Dane's shoes and the park map in the other. Worked like a charm. The official showed up and said, "well, uh, he looks just fine. What was the big deal?" Nice one dad!
All over the park are figures, animals, building, characters, etc. made of legos. Pretty amazing to see these life size figures made totally out of legos.
Getting off a dinosaur made of legos does not feel very good.

In the center of the park is a Mini-World display. Las Vegas, Washington D.C., and other famous locations all made of legos. The kids enjoyed running from display to display. It really was pretty amazing.

It was a fun two days with Nana and Papa and the kids!
While we did enjoy Lego Land we LOVED our accommodations. Thanks to the Military we were able to stay on a Marine Base called Camp Pendleton. Duplex beach cottages that open up to the beach. Nana and Papa stayed on one side of the duplex and we were on the other with a door that joined the two rooms. Full kitchens and plenty of space and a kids playground in the sand right outside our door. The kids loved being so close to the ocean. All three of them loved chasing into the waves.
You can kind of see the cottages behind Nana and Emma. Just the perfect size and the perfect distance to the beach!
Here I am at 29 weeks. I feel about the size I was when I was about to deliver Dane. BIG! I suppose it's whats to be expected- bigger with each pregnancy!
Emma is a "do everything and be everywhere" kind of girl. If it looks goopy, bumpy, or slimy let her at it! She definitely enjoyed what the ocean had to offer!

It was a great family vacation! The kids slept well, we played hard, and made some great family memories! We live in such a great place to see and do new things! As nice as it will be to finally live in one place we love all the new things we get to see and do because of our different assignments!

We go to Oceanside Harbor (which is the exit just sound of Camp Pendleton) every other year for family reunions, and we absolutely love it there! We've never been to Legoland before, but now that we have kids we might have to check it out in the next couple years. :) Glad you guys were able to enjoy a beautiful vacation!
