Weekend Vacay...or something

We just returned from a weekend at my brother's in Bear Lake area.  Sounds great, huh!?  Here is the catch...6 hour drive with 13 people in a 15 passenger van - 8 of which are under the age of 6.


Actually, it really was a great weekend.  I am sure we all could have used more sleep than what we actually got but all things considered I would do it again! The oldest cousin was being baptized and it's a definite advantage of being in the area during the deployment to catch all these family events.  The days leading up to the trip Dane kept telling me that his cousin (the one getting baptized) was his best friend in the whole world.  Dane and Eliza were excited to pack their backpacks, have their own special seat in the big van and be able to drink juice boxes and eat Cheetos during the ride.  All in all, the kids mostly slept and rarely cried.  The trip was a definite success!

While we were there we went sledding, walked on the frozen Bear Lake, broke up several fights between cousins, snacked on the remaining cheetos, ate some real meals, talked and talked and talked.  We had a great time.  Is there anything better than family?

I can't wait for my little family to all be together again!

Dane, Eliza and Emma had a fun playing in the snow.  I even got in a sled with all three kiddos and went down the hill.  Emma was a good sport!

 Dane and Eliza are the greatest little friends.  Its fun to watch them be able to experience new things at the same time!  

 Oh my.  Way to go Nana and Papa.

 Dane is a good boy.  Quick to obey (usually), easy to please, and full of life.   He wasn't so sure about holding onto Emma but walking up and down that hill holding her was more of a work out than I wanted.  Thanks Dane!
